Set Junk E-Mail Threshold

Applies to: Exchange Server 2007, Exchange 2007 Mailboxes

Overview: Setting the Junk E-Mail Threshold means specifying the Spam Confidence Level (SCL) for the Exchange Organization forĀ E-Mail delivered to the users Junk E-Mail folder.
Let’s say you set the threshold to 5, emails with an SCL level of 5 or higher will be delivered to the users Junk E-Mail folder, while emails with a SCL lower than 5 will be delivered to the users Inbox.

There is 2 ways to apply the Junk E-Mail Threshold:

Organization wide

  • In the Exchange Management Shell, enter the following command
    Set-OrganizationConfig -SCLJunkThreshold 5

On per-user basis

  • In the Exchange Management Shell, enter the following command
